June Bloom
June was an exciting and fulfilling month for the Let's Play a Game Foundation! We were able to strengthen our existing relationships while expanding our work in new organizations and dimensions. We’re thrilled to share our latest activities and updates with our wonderful community. Your continued support and enthusiasm have been instrumental in helping us achieve our mission of bringing people together through the power of play.
Continuing partnerships
Solana Beach Community Connections Event
We had the pleasure of attending another event with Solana Beach Community Connections, where we played games with seniors who are aging in place. These events are incredibly rewarding as they provide an opportunity for us participate in the enrichment the social lives of our senior community members. The smiles, laughter, and stories shared over games truly highlight the power of play in fostering connections and joy across generations. In July we’ll be back, but this time the event will be open to dozens of kids between the ages of 6 and 8. It sounds like it might get a little chaotic, but that’s the kind of fun we love to have!

Boys and Girls Club Adventure Program
Our commitment to youth development continues as we provided games to the Boys and Girls Club Linda Vista site to support their Summer Adventure Program. We will be checking in with them every other week to ensure the kids have the best games possible, fostering screen-free play that keeps them smiling and growing together. It's amazing to see the positive impact that games can have on children's development and social skills.
Impact with New Communities
First Commercial Game Night at Local Roots Kombucha
We took a major step forward to making our organization more financially sustainable when we hosted our first commercial game night at Local Roots Kombucha. The event was a tremendous success, with dozens of people joining us to learn and play games. The atmosphere was filled with fun, camaraderie, and of course, Local Roots’ delicious kombucha! A huge thank you to Local Roots for their partnership and support for this first event. We are looking forward to our next game night there on July 24th. Mark your calendars and join us for another evening of fun!
Ok so we still aren’t great at event photography - somehow we only got pictures of our staff(from left to right, David, Eric, Katrina, and Callum)..
Supporting Game Night at The Candy Pushers
We also were present at a game night at The Candy Pushers, a queer-owned candy shop in North Park. This delightful shop hosts a monthly game night, and we are proud to help them maintain a library of awesome games to continue to build community and create inclusive, joyful experiences. We are committed to supporting these kinds of spaces where everyone can come together and have fun.
